Hagley Changing Rooms & Pavilion

Scope

We were appointed by the Local Parish Council for the replacement of the existing changing facilities and cafe for the Village Football Club.

The proposed design was striking without impinging on the surrounding park and nearby buildings, combining an angled mono-pitched roof and polycarbonate cladding. The intent behind the design was to add more colour to the space and steer away from a more "conventional" shape. However, it was decided by local planning authorities that the building required a more subtle appearance as opposed to the original colour scheme, so as to not overshadow the surrounding area, leading to the use of the grey polycarbonate cladding, which is shown in the final photos.

Challenges

The design was made in conjunction with an additional project to replace the outdated and deteriorating Hagley Community Hub (CHub) on the opposite side of the park grounds. This project was ultimately put on hold early into the design process.
