Cherry Avenue Expansion Project
Scope

Proposals for Cherry Hill involved the internal rearrangement as well as side and rear extensions to a 1926 property.

Internally, the most significant change would be the expansion of the entrance hall into the adjacent sitting room and rooms above to create a two and half storey music room. Additionally the first floor plan is to be handed in order that the new master bedroom enjoy the best views over the local landscape without being obscured. Additionally, the first floor would extend into a new bedroom-suite over the garage.

To the rear, a single storey extension allows for the kitchen to be increased and a new utility room which would benefit the rear elevation.

Challenges

Being a 1926 property, the building was quite compact. Therefore, changing the rooms to the client's requirements, and reorganizing structural elements of the build was particularly challenging. Regularly liaising with the contractor and structural engineers enabled me to provide a seamless end result for the client.
